General description: light reddish brown heartwood, clearly distinguishable lighter sapwood; straight but sometimes wavy or spiral grain,  medium and uniform texture.

Uses: plywood, decorative veneer, heavy constructions, arches, trusses, laminates; internal and external joinery, poles, pilework, wood pulp, vats, tanks; dock and port building structures, maritime pilework, boat-building, mining lumber, railway sleepers, barrels.
