DETAILS

General description: light brown heartwood with purplish-reddish stripes in older wood (produce a growth ring shape on normally cut surfaces); coarse grain, fine and uniform texture.  Non-resinous to lustrous effect wood.

Uses: large beams for building, finishings, joinery; broom sticks, carriages, railway sleepers, wood pulp, quality newspaper; plywood, decorative veneering.
